After
seven years experience with the Metropolitan Police joined
Marks & Spencer PLC as Operations Manager with particular
responsibility for the flagship Marble Arch store and Westway
Distribution Centre, a 24-hour operation containing £20m
stock in 300,00 sq. ft. of warehoused space. Became Security
Advisor at Baker Street head office responsible for security
at some 100 locations including M&S suppliers, identifying
the security profile and risk potential of premises. Developed
and implemented security systems and procedures at M&S
retail centre in Northern Ireland. Consultative and director
level experience in various sectors including IT security,
the secure destruction of counterfeit goods, intruder alarm
system management and response services. Jointly launched
Vigil Security Management with John Goldsworthy in 1999.

Many
years experience in the security industry with the Chubb
Security Division of Racal Electronics and the Reliance
Group where he was Group Marketing Director, Sales Director
of the manpower division Reliance Security Services and
Managing Director of Reliance Electronics. Founded Goldfield
Electronics in 1992 providing consultancy for many major
projects including RAF Flyingdales, HMP Belmarsh and the
Royal Opera House. With Bill Mortimer jointly launched Vigil
Security Management in 1999.

Hands-on
experience having joined Vigil as a Mobile Patrol Officer
in August 2001. Rapidly responded to the challenge of an
expanding company by demonstrating initiative and responsibility
leading to supervisory roles. Has completed the Industrial
Society Supervisory Management Course, developing a management
approach giving optimum service to customers while motivating
colleagues, maintaining standards and discipline and promoting
best health and safety practice.

an electrical and electronic engineering apprenticeship
with the Ministry of Defence before joining the security
industry specialising in electronic systems. Wide industry
experience as a Service Engineer and in Technical Support.
Previously Technical Manager for Goldfield Electronics Limited
supervising nationwide maintenance and emergency response
services. Particular expertise in the ever-widening applications
of Information Technology in the security sector.

joined the electronics industry as a lighting engineer for
a touring lighting and sound company. Became Lighting Manager
responsible for event management including Health &
A Safety and Public Risk Assessment producing Method Statements
and maintaining required documentation. Joined Goldfield
Electronics Limited as a Service Engineer going on to project
management with a focus on developing, installing and commissioning
integrated systems.

Joined
Reliance Security Services in 1984 after 25 years army service
including a number of Special Forces tours. Several years
as an Operations Manager gave invaluable “coal face”
experience in man management, motivation and customer liaison.
Subsequently moved into sales developing skills in risk
assessment and the development of counter measures including
manpower levels and technology applications.
